Courier to India from Boston should start with the shipment itself. If you are moving home, sending business goods, posting an important document or sending a family parcel, we first need the exact pickup ZIP code, what is inside, the final packed weight and dimensions, and the receiver’s six-digit Indian PIN code.
Couriers To India focuses on the U.S.-to-India corridor. We help match permitted personal effects, commercial consignments, documents and parcels to the right service, then prepare the booking for pickup, tracking and India-side customs contact.
CTI does not currently list a physical Boston branch. Use the exact Boston ZIP code and provide reception, residence-hall, loading or building-access details where needed.

For a relocation, several cartons of used clothes, books, footwear and other accepted belongings can be easier to manage as a planned personal-effects shipment than as last-minute airline baggage. Pack only permitted items, number every carton and keep a separate inventory for each box.
Keep travel and identity records available because personal-effects treatment in India depends on the traveller, timing, actual goods, and customs documentation. Used belongings should not be assumed to be automatically duty-free.
Review the Excess Baggage Service before you divide a move into multiple cartons.
Boston businesses may need to send approved samples, printed material, non-dangerous components, contracts or other permitted goods to Indian customers, suppliers or project teams. The local economy includes life sciences, healthcare, education, research, finance and professional services, so business shipments should be classified correctly from the start.
For a commercial quote, provide the exact product description, quantity, declared value, material or composition where relevant, carton count, packed weight and dimensions, and the Indian company name, address and PIN code.
Do not label commercial goods as a personal gift to simplify paperwork. Use our Commercial Courier Service for a shipment-specific quote.
For official local information, see City of Boston.
Permitted university transcripts, certificates, powers of attorney, property papers, affidavits, contracts and other business or legal documents may be suitable for the CTI document service. The current USA service shows a priority-document limit of up to 15 pages with an estimated 3-5 working-day transit window to major Indian destinations.
Keep a digital scan of irreplaceable originals and check the Document Courier Service before dispatch.
Describe the contents specifically. “Used cotton clothing, books and permitted footwear” is more useful than “gift”, “sample” or “miscellaneous”. Clear descriptions help with screening and give the carrier and Indian Customs better information.
Permitted clothing, books and other accepted non-dangerous goods may be suitable, but the exact contents should be checked before packing. Review the Gift Courier Service and Prohibited Items before sealing the carton.
A reliable quote starts with the packed shipment. Have these details ready:
Useful local pickup references include Back Bay, Downtown and the Seaport; Fenway-Kenmore, Allston, Brighton and East Boston; and hospital, research, student and office addresses across Boston. If the origin is Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline and other Greater Boston cities, use the actual municipality and ZIP code rather than describing it as Boston.
If pickup is from an apartment, office, campus, hospital, laboratory or secured building, include unit, reception, loading or access instructions.
See How It Works and use the Package Measurement Guide before requesting the final quote.
CTI’s current USA page publishes capacity and transit tiers, while the transport price is shown as TBA. That means the live quote should be based on the shipment you actually packed rather than a generic city price.
The USA page also says the 75 lb / 34 kg extra-large box is not accepted under the standard service because of an oversize surcharge. Ask for the current quote before packing around a specific rate.
The final amount can change with chargeable weight, dimensions, contents, pickup ZIP code, Indian PIN code, customs requirements and applicable service surcharges. Indian duties and taxes, where assessed, are separate from the transport quote.
Check the USA Service page and request a live quote before handover.
For courier imports containing goods, the receiver in India may need identity and address verification through the authorised courier or customs process. Use the receiver’s correct legal name, working phone number, complete address and six-digit PIN code from the start.
Indian Customs can assess duties or taxes according to the goods, value, purpose and classification. A parcel is not automatically duty-free because it is a family gift or contains used belongings.
For official India-side requirements, see CBIC Courier KYC Guidance.
For U.S. export descriptions, use specific commodity wording rather than vague labels. See U.S. Customs and Border Protection cargo-description guidance.
A correctly sized carton protects the contents and can reduce avoidable cost. International carriers may compare the physical scale weight with volumetric weight and use the higher figure as chargeable weight.
For U.S. measurements, CTI publishes: Length x Width x Height in inches / 139 = volumetric weight in pounds. Measure the outside of the sealed carton, not the loose contents.
Use a strong carton, remove unnecessary empty space and stop items from moving. Review the Packaging Guide, Package Measurement Guide and Prohibited Items before pickup.
CTI’s current USA page shows the accepted document and parcel capacities but lists the transport prices as TBA. Send the packed weight, dimensions, contents, pickup ZIP code and Indian PIN code for the current quote.
Yes. CTI does not currently list a physical Boston branch. Use the exact Boston ZIP code and provide reception, residence-hall, loading or building-access details where needed.
Yes, permitted used personal belongings may be suitable for the excess-baggage or personal-effects service. Prepare a box-by-box inventory and keep relevant travel documents available.
Yes, eligible documents, approved samples, printed material and non-dangerous goods can be quoted. Provide the exact description, quantity, declared value, carton details and receiver information.
Permitted academic, legal, property and business documents may be suitable. Keep digital copies and confirm the service conditions before sending irreplaceable originals.
Permitted clothing and accepted gift items may be suitable, but gifts are not automatically duty-free. Describe the contents accurately and check current restrictions before packing.
Batteries and battery-operated equipment, flammables, jewellery, food, medicines, cosmetics, plant products, alcohol, tobacco, dangerous goods and other restricted categories should be checked against CTI’s current rules before packing.
CTI currently shows about 3-5 working days for priority documents and about 4-7 days for listed parcel tiers. These are estimates, not guaranteed final-delivery dates; pickup, customs and the final PIN code can add time.
The authorised courier or customs process may request identity and address evidence. The receiver’s legal name, phone number and delivery address should match the shipment information.
Ask using the actual pickup ZIP code. Locations such as Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline and other Greater Boston cities should be quoted as their real origins rather than assumed to have the same collection conditions as Boston.
For a current quote, send Couriers To India the Boston pickup ZIP code, Indian PIN code, exact contents, carton count, actual packed weight and sealed dimensions. We can then confirm the suitable service, current rate and pickup conditions before handover.
